Spring Service: FAQs
Updated weekly with answers to YOUR questions!
Have a question? Submit it at the bottom of this page or email info@project351.org.
Can I add an additional host site after registration? Can we change the start or end date of our collection?
Yes, to both! Additional sites can be added with the confirmation of the caring adult decision maker at the site. Dates can be changed if the key members of your team agree. If you add sites or change dates, please update us with new information at info@project351.org .
Does service have to end by April 5th?
Yes, Spring Service has a common end date because we there is only one dedicated weekend for regional delivery and drop offs of your donations. Your Service and Quality Sort must be completed by April 5th, so you’re prepared to deliver donations to a regional location on April 6 or 7. Generous businesses kindly “loan” us space to collect and store your donations for pick-up by trucks and moving vans. Because of the complex logistics of drop-offs and transportation, the weekend of April 6th and 7th is our only regional drop-off weekend.
My Toolkit hasn’t arrived, yet. When should I expect it?
Your Toolkit is on its way to you now! If you do not receive it by March 4th, please email info@project351.org, so we can send another one your way!
What do we do with donations that don’t meet C2C standards?
As mentioned on the call, C2C has a “quality standard” for donations. Spring Service training includes the “Quality Sort”, a team building service opportunity that sorts and prepares donations for delivery to the regional drop-off location. We also provide guidance on the process for securing a secondary organization (local) for donations that don’t meet C2C’s quality standard. Although every donation may not be sent to C2C, all donations will be valued and used by families in need of our care.
Can we raise money for Spring Service?
While our emphasis is on the collection of clothing and shoes; you are invited to raise donations or host a fundraiser for C2C. We will share important guidance and tips in the weeks ahead.
When should we start advertising for Spring Service?
You can start “Spreading the Word” (STW) now! Send a “save the date” and/or email calendar invitation to friends and family, school or host site staff/faculty, and for calendars that are posted publicly (e.g. school website, church/temple announcement bulletin). Give notice that Spring Service -- and the chance to give back and make a difference -- is coming! Be sure to advise that more information on your project will follow!
