Commemorating Carolyn Casey’s Commitment to Youth Civic Engagement
Dear Friends,
Last week, we were honored to join Bridgewater State University in celebrating Project 351 Founder and Executive Director Carolyn Casey as the recipient of the university’s Distinguished Service Award.
Presented during commencement exercises recognizing leadership, service, and civic engagement, this meaningful honor reflects Carolyn’s enduring commitment to the young people of Massachusetts and the extraordinary impact of Project 351 across the Commonwealth.
Founded on the principles of unity, compassion, and service, Project 351 has empowered thousands of eighth-grade Ambassadors from every city and town in Massachusetts to lead with empathy, purpose, and action. Through Carolyn’s vision and steadfast leadership, generations of young people have discovered their capacity to strengthen communities, bridge divides, and contribute meaningfully to civic life.
What makes Carolyn’s leadership so extraordinary is not only what she has built, but the way she has built it, with humility, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the promise and potential of young people.
At a moment when many young people feel disconnected from civic life and uncertain about the future, Project 351 continues to offer something profoundly important: hope, belonging, purpose, and the opportunity to lead through service.
We are deeply grateful to Bridgewater State University for recognizing Carolyn and, through this honor, affirming the importance of investing in the next generation of compassionate and courageous leaders.
With gratitude,
Charlie Rose | Board Chair, Project 351
