My six-word memoir:
Leaders lift up those around them.
My passion for service is motivated by:
The idea to leave the world in a better place than when I found it. I ask myself how I’d like to be remembered when I’m gone, and what legacy I’ll leave once my own journey through life is complete. I seek to positively impact those around me and to lead by example with values of compassion, respect, and kindness for all people, even those who hold different opinions from me.
Project 351 leadership lessons that guide me:
There are two. The first is that big change can’t be accomplished alone. You need a team! The second one is that an idea is just an idea until you take action. It can seem daunting, but taking initiative is the necessary first step. Project 351 has taught me that taking that first big step can lead to some amazing results.
How has Project 351 inspired your aspirations?
I am excited for a career in either domestic or international politics, focusing on bipartisanship and multilateralism, and encouraging the United States to lead by example on the world stage.
If you had asked me this question before I had become an Ambassador, I would have had no answer. Project 351 was the first time I truly realized that a career in political or social issues was right for me. It was the idea of doing good in a community that really stuck with me, and I eventually connected that priority to politics and policy. I truly believe that through cooperation, education, and proper action, we can tackle some of society’s most daunting problems.
“Now, I’m aware of my own leadership potential, inspired and educated to take action on issues I care about, and committed to educate and teach others
to do the same.”
