April 6th: Alumni Voice: Carter Cantafio
Today and for the next few weeks, we hand our #351GratitudeMoment over to our Ambassadors and Alumni -- the most inspiring voices we know.
As we reflected last week, we've witnessed a new level of their devotion, deeper empathy, greater concern, and stronger resolve over the last month. And, special dedication to acts of gratitude and service to those whom they lift up as unsung heroes. Role models in their communities who lead and care -- and hope and heal -- so selflessly during this time of challenge.
Today, we're so grateful to Carter Cantafio, Regional Service Team, Swansea, for today's #351GratitudeMoment: "During this time of distress and unease, my high school Principal, Brian McCann, has done an outstanding job providing guidance while we are out of school. Without Mr. McCann's guidance, distance learning would be much more of a struggle. Every morning, he posts a video of himself reading daily announcements on YouTube and Twitter, ensuring every member of the Swansea Schools community is up-to-date in this fluid situation.
However, Mr. McCann shines through even when the schedule is normal in school. Every Thursday morning, he hosts "Positive Sign Thursday" and greets all of the students as we arrive at school with a sign saying something positive. So even before the day starts, he is lifting our spirits! As a freshman, his kindness has made my transition to a new school environment far more comfortable.
And, whenever a special event such as a holiday or day of remembrance takes place, you can count on Mr. McCann's sign to reflect it. This sign that he made on Halloween said "You are boo-tiful." I am beyond grateful to have a principal who goes above and beyond to make his student's high school experience the best it can possible be.
Thank you, Mr. McCann!!" Project 351 joins Carter in appreciating the wonderful, dedicated, and inspiring Mr. McCann. Today's #351GratitudeMoment celebrates you!
