April 7th: Alumni Voice: Shannon Moore
Our Ambassadors and Alumni's greatest role models and inspirations are members of their family. Today's #351GratitudeMoment features the reflections of Shannon Moore of Billerica, ALC Leader, Anne Frank Service Hero team.
The Moore tradition of service has shaped Shannon's life. She reflects, "Service and leadership have always been a part of my life. I always try to be as kind as possible. When I was little, I would help my mom sort baby items for church drives. Through Girl Scouts, we’d serve every year. I always wanted to serve more and explore my higher capacity to lead, but I never had the opportunity. Project 351 changed that...and my life!"
As one of our frontline service leaders and mentors, Shannon is building skills, confidence, and compassion for a life of service. In her case, a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Alongside the educators that she considers heroes is her ultimate role model and source of greatest pride -- her sister, Kimberly.
Today's #351GratitudeMoment is sent with love from Shannon to Kimberly, "I’m extremely thankful for my sister, Kimberly. She’s a nurse at Beth Israel and works long and difficult hours during this chaotic time. Yet, she continues to persevere and do incredible work in her field. And, always remains her very kind self. Not only that, she always finds the time to check in with me...to make sure that I’m okay.
All my life, I’ve looked up to Kimberly, and this past month has only proven even further that she -- and every nurse -- is truly incredible."
To Kimberly and all of the heroes at Beth Israel and in our medical community...we extend our deepest appreciation and awe for your heroic, life saving service. And, send 351 love and this #351GratitudeMoment to you.
